Call for Applications

VISEGRÁD IN SHORT(S): Connecting Talents

 

FILMFEST DRESDEN is teaming up with Filmverband Sachsen for a new edition of „Visegrád in Short(s)“ which will take place during FILMFEST DRESDEN – International Short Film Festival from September 8th – September 13th 2020 in Dresden, Germany!

 

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

In a three-day workshop you will develop creative ideas and concepts in international teams, work together on improving those ideas and pitch them to a team of industry professionals. These can be concepts for a short film, a video installation, an animated film or the like. You will gain insights into international collaboration, learn from successful projects and meet people from the short film industry that could help you bring your projects ideas to fruition.

Additionally you will be able to:

attend the industry programme and film screenings at FILMFEST DRESDEN

take part in networking events and meet industry representatives during one-to-one meetings

screen your own films during an open film night

 

WHO IS IT FOR?

Up and coming directors, producers, screenwriters, animators, cinematographers, film students, distributors and film agents resident in the Visegrád countries Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland as well as Germany.

 

YOUR MENTOR

The workshop will be led by Tina Leeb, CEO at fastforward Leipzig. (fastforward acts as advisory services for independent filmmakers, production companies and film-related projects. Creative production, script and campaign consultancy as well as setting up strategic concepts for festivals, institutions and film-related companies. Tina Leeb was CEO at Celluloid Fabrik Leipzig from 2011-2017 and  Head of Sponsoring and Events at DOK Leipzig from 2005 – 2015).

 

THE FEE & WHAT IS INCLUDED

For 50 € per participant you will receive a festival accreditation. Accommodation and breakfast (double room shared with another workshop participant) are provided by the festival. We offer small travel grants.

 

YOUR COMMITMENT

Once selected for the forum, participation in the programme and its events is mandatory from Wednesday, September 9th to Saturday, September 12th.

The application should include a letter of motivation, a short biography and a link or screener to your films.  If you wish to submit a film for consideration for the Open Film Night, then please send us a link to the film. It should be no longer than 15 minutes and be produced after 2019. It can be of any genre or type.

The festival and all its events will take place in accordance with the health and safety regulations set by the State Government of Saxony .
